Damian Culhane CMgr, FCMI, FISMM, MIOD, MEMCC

Damian is an active Non-Executive Director (NED) and provides creative input and contribution to boards, offering valuable independent oversight and constructive challenge to the executive directors. Damian has a wealth of experience across multiple sectors, within small, medium and large organisations – delivering on the following key areas:

Strategy: Damian offers constructive and objective challenge and contributes to the development of strategy – including facilitation of strategy workshops.

Performance: Damian is involved in scrutinising the performance of management in meeting agreed goals and objectives and monitor the reporting of performance; in many of Damian’s NED roles it is agreed that he will deliver regular coaching and skills development for the Directors as appropriate – mostly 1:1 and sometimes in groups.

Conflict: Resolving conflict between directors and senior managers is a key strength for Damian. Using multiple techniques including NLP and intuitive work to resolve disputes swiftly and amicably. Damian will generally work 1:1 with each party, then bring the parties together to resolve the tension and promote harmonious working in the future.

Connections: Damian has built up a significant network of valuable contacts over his 25 years in business. Damian is a facilitator in connecting organisations to new potential clients, sourcing quality suppliers and finding the best match of people to support an organisations growth aspirations.

People: Damian works with organisations to determine appropriate levels of remuneration of executive directors and has a prime role in appointing, and where necessary removing, senior management and in succession planning.

Optimisation: Damian works with executive boards to evaluate the effective use of resources, including objective and unbiased reviews of the number of people required and to optimise workspace to ensure organisations get the best out of their people.

Adding Value: Damian is often bought in to fill gaps or close gaps – adding his knowledge, experience and safe guidance. In particular Damian has worked with many founders, start-ups and family owned organisations to transition leadership – providing clarity and focus to deliver a non-judgemental, practical approach to achieve growth.
